Life of Colors
1984 - Present
Description
This work operates on two levels: inner identity and outward action. It depicts two distinct figures. On the right side is the father, stylized and constructed from geometric planes—triangles, rectangles, and arcs—representing life’s challenges and paths. The other figure, in black, is the mother, raising her arm and pointing toward him. Her silhouette symbolizes Palestinian women, who live in the shadows while struggling through life.
The use of color in this work is significant, as it conveys life, emotion, and vitality. In contrast, shades like teal and blue evoke calm within chaos. The combination of colors and geometric forms reflects lived experience—how one rationalizes life—while the black, silhouetted figure expresses the effort to navigate life’s complexities.
